I saw The Artist in the cinema at the weekend and to say that I’m now swooning for all things 1920’s is an understatement. Maybe because it was a silent film or perhaps because it’s black and white, but my eyes were totally drawn to the costumes; From the intricately beaded turban and the animal fur draped around her shoulders, to the delicate gloves and the full length silk chemise – Peppy’s outfits were stunning.
Whether you are into clothes or not, The Artist is an amazing film which depicts the glamourous (and not so glamorous) side of Hollywood in the roaring twenties. It’s a silent film about a silent film star, and I foresee I getting at least one Oscar at the Academy Awards next month..
Now, I need a cloche hat, a flapper dress and a curly bob – stat!
